iTunes U is Apple’s worldwide outlet for digital educational content allowing students to search and download free video, audio and PDFs just like they do with music. iTunes U enables digital material to be downloaded to iPods, laptops or desktop computers via podcast subscriptions.
Possible uses
  • Podcast feeds of courses, with students receiving a weekly delivery of content directly to their computer or. Lectures recorded on Lectopia will directly populate iTunes U.
  • Regular communication with professional and industry groups or alumni who can now subscribe to regular podcasts, including magazines in PDF form.
  • 'How To' videos on things like new lab procedures.
  • Promotion of research.

iTunes differs from our YouTube channel in that content is easily downloadable and can be viewed on mobile devices.
The other benefit of iTunes U is that you can have private areas just for students and staff, which is important in meeting our copyright obligations. When we copy and use material in class it can’t be shown publicly.

How to find it
Log into the iTunes store and look for the iTunes U icon in the left hand menu. Once in the store, go to the Universities and Colleges menu and find UNSW.
iTunes works on Macs and PCs once the free iTunes software has been downloaded.
