Questionmark Perception (QMP)

Introduction

During Semester 2 2013 we are planning to pilot The Questionmark™ Perception™ V5 assessment management system which enables educators and trainers to author, schedule, deliver, and report on surveys, quizzes, tests and exams.(http://www.questionmark.com/us/perception/)

Currently it has two components, the Microsoft Windows authoring software called Authoring Manager (runs on Windows XP and above, no Macintosh version available), and the server components including the Enterprise Reporter. It is now proposed that from 2014, authoring will be completely web based.

Questionmark Perception's Authoring Manager allows you to create, import and design questions in a number of different formats called question types. All question types can include graphics, multimedia, Flash, sound, videos, and URLs pointing to useful learning materials. Perception Authoring Manager allows you to use 22 different question wizards to create a wide variety of question types. (http://www.questionmark.com/uk/perception/authoring_windows_qm_qtypes.aspx)

Perception's standard reporting and analytics using the Enterprise Reporter include:
  • Comprehensive statistics that you analyze the results of an assessment or group of assessments
  • Item analysis data essential to maximizing quality and reliability of questions
  • Gap analysis and diagnostic reports understand needs and facilitate prescriptive learning
  • Coaching reports to help you pinpoint specific development needs and provide guidance to improve individual performance
  • Survey reporting to analyze and share results of surveys and course evaluations.
